Petfolk Veterinary & Urgent Care - Noblesville is a vet in Noblesville, IN, with an on-site pharmacy for its patients. It is part of the clinic, not a separate store.
Call (463) 217-5944 to ask about a refill, or book online.
What kinds of medicine can I take home from the visit?
Common medicines include:
antibiotics and antifungal medicine for skin, ear and bladder infections;
pain relief and anti-inflammatory medicine made for dogs or cats;
anti-nausea and stomach medicine;
itch and allergy relief;
heartworm, flea and tick prevention;
ear drops, eye drops and medicated shampoos;
long-term medicine for conditions such as arthritis or thyroid disease.
Stock changes. Ask the team if your pet takes something less common. If a medicine is not on hand, the vet will talk with you about other ways to get it.
Why does the vet need to see my pet first?
The vet has to know your pet. That means a recent exam on file. It protects your pet. A dose that is safe for one dog can be wrong for another based on weight, age, kidney health or other medicines. The vet may also want blood work before starting or renewing some long-term medicines.
Bring a list or photos of every medicine and supplement your pet takes, with the doses. Some supplements and calming chews change how other medicines work, and the vet wants the full picture before adding anything new.
If your pet was seen somewhere else, bring the records. The vet will review them, but will still need to examine your pet before writing a new prescription.
How do refills work?
Call (463) 217-5944 or message the team a few days before you run out. The vet reviews the record and approves the refill if your pet is due. Pets on long-term medicine need a recheck from time to time, often once or twice a year.

Can I give my pet human medicine?
No. Ask the vet first. Common pain pills such as ibuprofen, naproxen and acetaminophen can badly harm dogs and cats, even at small doses. Cats are especially sensitive. Some cold medicines and sugar-free products also contain ingredients that are toxic to pets.
Tips for giving pills
Hide a pill in a small treat or pill pocket, and give a plain treat first and after.
For cats, ask about a liquid, a chew or a transdermal gel when one exists.
Give the full course, even if your pet seems better.
Never split or crush a pill unless the vet says it is OK. Some are made to release slowly.
The team can show you how to give a pill or drops in the room. Fear Free, gentle handling applies here too, so no one fights your pet.
Costs and paying
The vet gives you an estimate before any test or treatment, including medicine. The final bill can differ if the plan changes during the visit. Petfolk takes Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay and CareCredit financing. Ask the team about lower-cost options or a different form of a medicine if price is a concern.
Keeping medicine safe at home
Keep pet and human medicine on separate shelves. Keep chews up high, because flavored tablets taste like treats to a dog who finds the bag. If your pet eats a whole bottle, or you see swelling, hives or repeated vomiting after a new medicine, call the clinic. If the clinic is closed or your pet is struggling to breathe, go to a 24-hour hospital such as MedVet Indianapolis in Carmel.
