Puppy Vaccines in Boynton Beach, FL, From Your Local Vet
A booster series every few weeks, planned from your puppy's first visit.
Petfolk Veterinary & Urgent Care - Boynton Beach is a vet in Boynton Beach, FL, that gives puppies their full vaccine series, starting from about 6 to 8 weeks old. Puppies need a booster every 3 to 4 weeks until about 16 weeks, because the protection they got from their mother wears off at a different time in every puppy.
At the first visit, the vet sets the dates for the whole series, so you know what is coming.
Call (561) 200-1214, book online or walk in with your new puppy.
When are puppy shots due?
At Petfolk Boynton Beach, a typical schedule looks like this. The vet adjusts it to your puppy's age and any shots already given.
6 to 8 weeks: first DAPP (distemper, adenovirus, parainfluenza, parvovirus).
10 to 12 weeks: second DAPP. Leptospirosis can start now, as two doses a few weeks apart.
14 to 16 weeks: third DAPP, and rabies. Florida law requires a rabies vaccine by 4 months of age (Statute 828.30).
Lifestyle shots: Bordetella (kennel cough) if your puppy will go to a groomer, daycare or puppy class.
About a year later: first adult boosters, including the 12-month rabies booster Florida law requires.
Across Petfolk, puppies usually have their first shot with us at around 11 weeks, and about 8 in 10 finish at least a second distemper-parvo booster (puppies who started Oct 2025 to Jun 2026).
What happens at the first puppy visit?
The first visit at Petfolk Boynton Beach covers a lot of ground. The vet checks your puppy from nose to tail, looks for fleas, ear mites and worms, gives the shots that are due, and starts heartworm and flea prevention. There is time for questions about crate training, biting, feeding, house training and spay or neuter timing.
This was our puppy’s first ever visit to the Vet. It was absolutely above and beyond our expectations.

Fear Free handling is standard at every Petfolk clinic. Bring your puppy hungry so treats work, plus any breeder or shelter records and a fresh stool sample in a sealed bag.
Where can my puppy go before the series is done?
Parvovirus lives in soil and on surfaces for months, and unvaccinated puppies catch it easily. Until the vet says the series is complete:
Stay out of dog parks, including the city's Crowder, Mangrove and Jaycee Park off-leash areas.
Skip pet store floors and busy sidewalks; carry your puppy instead.
Have play dates at home with healthy, fully vaccinated dogs you know.
Choose puppy classes that check every puppy's vaccine records.
Early socializing still matters. Let your puppy see cars, bikes, people in hats and the sound of rain from a safe spot.
What do puppy shots cost?
Puppy shots are given at wellness visits. A wellness exam starts at $99 at Petfolk Boynton Beach, or it is free with PetfolkCare, which starts at $199 a year. Each vaccine is priced on its own. You'll get an estimate before any test or treatment. The final bill can differ if the plan changes during the visit.
Missed a booster? Don't panic
Busy weeks happen. Call the clinic and book the next shot soon. A short delay usually means picking up where you left off. A long gap may mean an extra dose. Keep your puppy away from dog parks until the series is back on track.
Signs of parvo
Parvo hits young, unvaccinated puppies hardest. Vomiting, bloody diarrhea, or a puppy who won't eat or drink needs help the same day. Call Petfolk Boynton Beach right away during open hours, or go to a 24-hour emergency hospital such as Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) on North Congress Avenue.
