Dr. Couch’s love for veterinary medicine stems from rescuing her first dog Maddie. Maddie entered her life during high school and changed it for the better. Pets have an incredible ability to show us unconditional love and bring so much happiness to our life. When it came time to decide a career path, it was an easy answer. She wanted to help provide exceptional care to pets that give so much yet ask for so little, and help others experience the joys of the human animal bond.

Being a first time dog owner, she remembers sitting in an exam room with questions that were never answered. She left feeling uneasy, without a good understanding of what needed to be done. As a veterinarian, Dr. Couch has made it her goal to empower owners to feel in control of their pet’s health and gain knowledge at each visit. Client communication and education is her favorite part of general practice and believes it builds an important foundation to deliver exceptional pet care. Additionally, she enjoys forming relationships with pet parents to develop an action plan for both healthy and sick pets. She strives to answer all your questions at each visit to make sure you have a clear understanding of everything that was discussed. Dr. Couch is motivated by the relationships she builds with pet parents which allows her to keep pets healthy and pet parents happy.

Dr. Couch was born and raised in Southern California prior to traveling to the southeast for veterinary school at Auburn University. She lives in Charlotte, with her husband Trevor and their two fur babies, Maddie and Niles, who are both rescue pit bull mixes. They are both full of personality, Maddie being the sassy old lady and Niles being the snuggly old man. Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and traveling.

Jayme grew up in a small town about an hour outside of Charlotte called China Grove. It was there that a love and passion for animals was instilled in him at a young age by his mother. He is a graduate of East Carolina University (ARRRRGGGG!) and began his career in medicine in the human world in emergency medicine/ trauma. After being given the chance to shadow at a veterinary clinic he soon realized that his passion was animal medicine, and the rest is history. When not working or running his pet sitting business, Jayme loves spending time with his miniature schnauzer named Dori Bella and traveling with his husband. Jayme is so excited to be a part of such an amazing team of rockstars and growing with Petfolk.
