Urgent Care

Get care now

Deciding if your pet's health concern is urgent and needs to be seen by a veterinarian can be tough. Veterinary urgent care answers the question of "should I take them in" when the issue is not an emergency, but you are concerned enough to not wait for a

standard vet appointment. If your pet is uncomfortable, has a sudden change in behavior or activity, or you are worried, an urgent care visit is a smart move. Schedule an appointment online or give us a call at 833-PET-FOLK.

What is Urgent Care for Pets?

When to Seek Urgent Care for Your Pet?

Pet parents should consider an urgent care visit if your pet is experiencing any of the following:

  • Urinary issues
  • Toxin or foreign body ingestion
  • Bite wounds
  • Parasite issues (fleas and mites)
  • Ear or eye infections
  • Digestive problems
  • Overgrown nails
  • Significant behavioral changes

If you're unsure of whether your pet's issue necessitates a visit to urgent care, don't hesitate to give us a call. We'll set you and your pet up with a same-day appointment if necessary.

Your Pet's Urgent Care Visit: What to Expect

When you have an immediate concern, call us, or book an appointment online. Our skilled support team will ask some important questions to help determine the best care for your pet. If your pet's condition needs advanced care, we may refer you to an emergency or referral hospital. For many conditions, we can schedule you and your pet for an appointment soon at one of our Pet Care Centers to get your questions answered and care for your pet.

Upon arrival, our care center team will complete your check-in and assess your pet. We will work to examine and treat your pet as quickly as possible, explaining the steps along the way.

Caring for Your Pet Following Urgent Care Procedure

If your pet's urgent care visit requires a procedure, you'll work with your veterinarian to understand their care plan. Typically, your pet's care plan will include a follow-up visit which will be scheduled after their procedure. If you notice signs of complications such as excessively red skin around the incision site, vomiting and diarrhea, excessive lethargy following the expected recovery period, oozing from the incision site, or unusual odors, reach out to us so we can decide whether you need to come in for an appointment before your follow-up visit.

How we can help

Our Urgent Care Services

Urgent care can provide many of the same services you'd get from a standard vet visit, without waiting for a future appointment.

Urgent care appointments and sick visits

If your pet seems to be under the weather and you think they should be seen sooner rather than later, we want you to reach out. While we provide routine care, we can often work your pet into our schedule if they're experiencing an issue that requires attention. We'll work with you to understand your pet's symptoms and take the necessary next steps to help them get well.

Same-day local care

Life happens. If your pet gets into a fight with another animal, has an accident that resulted in a wound, or has another acute issue that requires medical attention, we're here to help.

Hospital referrals

In the event that we aren't able to treat your pet's problems in-house, we'll be happy to refer you to a vet who can help. Our hospital referrals can help you ensure that you're taking all of the steps necessary to keep your pet as healthy as possible.

When your pet needs surgery, you want to work with a veterinary office that you trust. We're proud to offer our clients both in-house surgical procedures and referrals for procedures that cannot be performed in our office. When you come in for your urgent care visit, we'll discuss whether surgery is an option for your pet's issue, and work with you to create a care plan.
