What is Petfolk?

Petfolk is a general veterinary practice providing wellness and dentistry services to dogs and cats. Our pet care centers will provide customers with the highest quality medical care, incredible design and a fully customized platform to connect to appointment scheduling, telemedicine, medical records and so much more.

What does a Wellness Exam include?

Wellness exams are key to maintaining and assessing your pet’s health. We take a whole pet approach to your pet’s examination. This is why our examinations will evaluate your pet’s physical health, their behavior, and breed specific needs. The veterinarian and pet care team systematically touch, feel, and look at your pet’s body and behavior from the head to the tail. They do all of this while checking for what appears normal and abnormal. The exam includes reviewing the eyes, ears, mouth, teeth, musculature, skin, hair and much more. A member of the veterinary care team is here to discuss your pet’s exam findings and needs. Together, with your pet care team, you can decide which treatments and care your pet will receive during their visit.

Do you perform surgeries at your Pet Care Center?

Yes.

Do you offer dental cleanings?

Yes, and all of our facilities are equipped with state of the art dental services equipment.

Do you offer pricing transparency and what do your services cost?

Our pricing is transparent, competitive, and fair. You’ll never be stuck with a surprise fee or cost because we go over the pricing of any treatments before we perform them. We’ll always give you options and pricing before doing anything. For pricing on a particular item, check out our Services page, or you can call, text, or email us.

What types of animals do you see?

We see cats and dogs.  Have another type of animal but not sure where to go? Give us a call and we are happy to point you in the right direction.

Where are you located?

Petfolk currently has several facilities in North Carolina and are adding more locations quickly in many states.  Please check our locations page for the most up to date list of all of our Care Center locations.

What is Virtual Care?

Book a virtual care appointment from the comfort of your home - or on the go! We offer quick consultations on anything from diet, preventative care, vaccination information, treatments, or even a referral to a local specialist. Virtual care allows you to save time and money while getting rid of worries. Pets must be an established patient, having had at least one in-person visit at one of our Mobile or Patient Care Clinics, to be eligible for our virtual care offering.

What is Fear Free?

Fear Free is a certification program and method of gentle handling to help your pet feel safe in a veterinary environment. This training program recognizes the emotional health of your pet and provides us with the tools to make your visit to the vet stress free. Every one of our pet care team members has taken the level 1 certification course with Fear Free. We take extra care each step of the way to recognize signs of anxiety, fear, and stress along the way. Then, we make adjustments to our care plan to make visits as easy as a walk in the park.

Booking

Do you accept walk-in appointments?

We do not accept walk-in visits. We have saved a few same day appointments on our calendar for pets that need immediate attention. Please contact us so we can help set up an appointment.

Do you accept same day appointments?

Yes, just give us a call and we’ll fit you in to our next available appointment.

Can I schedule an appointment with a specific vet?

Yes! Does Fido have a favorite veterinarian?  We’re all about Fear Free care and are happy to do everything we can to ensure your pet has a positive experience.

How can I reschedule my appointment?

Your visit

What are your hours of operation?

Petfolk is open 7 days a week and our current hours of operation at all locations are: Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm, and Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5pm.

Where can I get a copy of my pet’s records?

To request a copy of your pet’s records please submit an email to info@petfolk.com and we will return your request within 2 business days.

How often should my pet visit the veterinarian?

Dogs and cats age faster than we do which means major health changes can occur in a short amount of time. Puppies and kittens should see a veterinarian and their medical care team every 3-4 weeks until they are 20 weeks old. Dogs and cats should see their veterinarian every 12 months. Once a pet turns the age of 7-9 years old, more frequent visits every 6 months is recommended.

Will I be able to get all medications my pet may need from Petfolk?

Yes, we keep all common medications on site and in many cases you’ll be able to head home with your pet’s medications on your appointment day.

How can I transfer my pet’s records from another veterinary practice?

If you provide us with the name of your most recent vet, we’ll contact them to get your pet’s records. Alternatively, if you have them, you can email them to us at info@petfolk.com.

Do you offer grooming services?

At this time we do not offer grooming services, however please reach out and we’re happy to make some suggestions for trusted options. If your pet is in for a wellness appointment, we may provide nail trims.

Do you offer boarding or overnight stays?

At this time we do not offer boarding or overnight services, but if your pet requires overnight care we’ll refer you to a nearby hospital.

Do you offer travel certificates?

Yes! We can take care of exams and paperwork for domestic and international travel.

Do you offer spays and neuters?

Yes.

Did your pet eat something poisonous?

Call the Pet Poison Helpline immediately. Pet Poison Helpline that will be able to assist you and your veterinarian with the case. The sooner a pet poisoning is addressed, the easier, less expensive, and safer it is to treat. ASPCA Pet Poison Control.

Billing

Do you accept pet insurance?

Yes. When using pet insurance, you can expect to pay Petfolk directly for services upfront, and request reimbursement from your insurance company thereafter. 

What payment options do you accept?

Our hospital accepts:  Amex, VISA, Mastercard, Discover and Care Credit, Scratch Pay.
