Signs Your Pet May Need Urgent Care

Vomiting or diarrhea that sticks around for more than a day is one of the most common reasons pet parents call us. So is a pet who suddenly won't eat, won't get up, or seems off in a way that's hard to describe but impossible to ignore.

A few signs worth watching for: repeated vomiting or diarrhea, sudden lethargy or trouble standing, swelling of the face or hives, difficulty breathing, straining to urinate, wounds or limping that isn't improving, and known or suspected toxin ingestion, like chocolate, xylitol, or medication.

Not every one of these means something is seriously wrong. But if you're standing there wondering whether it's worth a call, that question alone is worth answering. We'd rather take a look and tell you it's nothing than have you wait it out at home.
