What do x-rays cost?

Socks, toys and corn cobs

Many swallowed objects show up clearly on an x-ray: rocks, bones, coins and toys with metal parts. Others, like fabric and soft plastic, are harder to see. Puppies and young dogs swallow things most often, so keep socks, hair ties and corn cobs out of reach. The vet may repeat the x-rays a few hours later, or add an ultrasound.
