Pet Urgent Care in East Cobb, Marietta, GA, From Your Local Vet

Petfolk Veterinary & Urgent Care - East Cobb Marietta is a vet in East Cobb that offers same-day urgent care for dogs and cats. When your pet is sick or hurt and it can't wait for a routine visit, you can walk in, call or book online, weekends included.

Many problems that feel scary at home can be handled at an urgent care clinic. If you are not sure, call (678) 539-8441 and the team will help you decide where to go.

Walk-ins are welcome. Call ahead or book online so the team can plan for your pet.

When does my pet need a 24-hour emergency hospital instead?

Go straight to a 24-hour emergency hospital if your pet can't breathe well, collapses, has a seizure that won't stop, was hit by a car, is bleeding heavily, or has a swollen hard belly and keeps trying to vomit. Petfolk East Cobb is a primary and urgent care clinic, not an emergency hospital. In Marietta, Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency at 1234 Powers Ferry Common SE is open around the clock for emergency walk-ins and needs no appointment.

A male cat who strains in the litter box and makes little or no urine belongs in this group too. A blocked bladder can turn serious within hours.

What can Petfolk East Cobb treat today?

Petfolk East Cobb treats most problems that need a vet today but are not life-threatening. Common reasons pet parents come in:

• Vomiting or diarrhea that started in the last day or two

• Limping or a torn nail

• Small cuts, scrapes and bite wounds

• Ear pain, head shaking or a smell from the ears

• Hot spots, hives or a sudden rash

• A red, squinting or weepy eye

• Coughing or sneezing that won't settle

• Eating something they shouldn't, like grapes, chocolate, a sock or medicine

The clinic has an in-house lab for many tests, digital x-rays and basic ultrasound, so the cause can often be found during the same visit. An on-site pharmacy means most pets go home with their medicine.

My pup got into something she shouldn’t have and we were able to walk in and be seen in a matter of minutes.

How a same-day visit goes

1. Walk in, call, or book the soonest time online.

2. Tell the team what happened, when it started and what your pet may have eaten.

3. The vet examines your pet and explains what they think is going on.

4. You'll get an estimate before any test or treatment. The final bill can differ if the plan changes during the visit.

5. You leave with a plan, any medicine, and clear signs that mean "call us back."

Fear Free handling is standard at every Petfolk clinic. A pet who is hurting is often scared too, so the team moves slowly and keeps handling gentle.

How much does urgent care cost at Petfolk East Cobb?

An urgent care visit at Petfolk East Cobb starts at $135. Tests, x-rays and medicine are added only after you say yes. A PetfolkCare membership starts at $199 a year and lowers the urgent visit cost. Members can also message a 24/7 care team by chat when they are unsure whether to come in.

Busy seasons in East Cobb

Georgia summers are hot and humid. Heavy panting, drooling or weakness after a walk or a yard day needs a call right away. Spring pollen brings itchy skin and paws. July 4 and New Year's fireworks send some dogs running, and a scared dog can cut a paw or slip a collar.

Petfolk East Cobb is open weekends, and same-day appointments are available. That helps when your regular vet is closed.

Bring the wrapper and the meds list

Bring any packaging from something your pet ate, a list of current medicines, and a photo or video if the problem comes and goes. Keep cats in a carrier and dogs on a short leash in the lobby.
