vets in Dallas

Yes. All seven Petfolk clinics in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are open on weekends, take walk-ins and book same-day visits, so a dog or cat that gets sick on a Saturday can usually be seen that day. A sick or urgent exam starts at $135.

Petfolk is primary and daytime urgent care for dogs and cats. The clinics run from Allen and Frisco in the north to Mansfield in the south, and weekday schedules differ by clinic: see today's times when you book online, in the app, or by call or text at (833) 738-3655. Walking in works too.

• Petfolk Allen, 931 W Bethany Dr, Allen

• Petfolk Frisco, 4453 Main Street, Frisco

• Petfolk North Dallas, 17062 Preston Rd, Dallas

• Petfolk Lakewood, 1922 Abrams Pkwy, Dallas

• Petfolk Southlake, 2645 E Southlake Blvd, Southlake

• Petfolk Flower Mound, 2550 Cross Timbers Rd, Flower Mound

• Petfolk Mansfield, 2200 E Broad St, Mansfield

You get an estimate before treatment starts. The final bill can differ if the vet finds more.

What can urgent care treat?

Most sick-pet problems that are not life-threatening can be treated at a Petfolk Dallas-area clinic the same day. Every clinic has digital x-rays, basic ultrasound, an in-house lab for many tests and an on-site pharmacy. Common reasons dogs and cats come in:

• Vomiting or diarrhea

• Ear infections, red or goopy eyes, itchy or broken skin

• Limping after a long run or a rough game

• Small cuts and scrapes

• Coughing or sneezing

• Eating something they shouldn't have (a sock, a chicken bone) while still acting normal

More detail is on our urgent care page.

When should I go to the ER instead?

Go straight to a 24-hour emergency hospital if your pet struggles to breathe, collapses, or has a seizure that lasts more than a few minutes. Petfolk is not an ER and has no overnight care. Other signs that need an ER:

• Hit by a car or a bad fall

• Bleeding that won't stop with firm pressure

• A swollen, tight belly with retching that brings nothing up (a sign of bloat in large dogs)

• A male cat straining to pee with little or nothing coming out

• Heavy panting, drooling or wobbling after time in the Texas heat

• Known poison, such as antifreeze, rat bait or gum with xylitol

Two 24-hour ERs in the area, checked on their own websites on Nov 1, 2026:

• MedVet Dallas, 11333 N. Central Expressway, Dallas, TX 75243, 972-994-9110

• MedVet Frisco, 7030 Stonebrook Pkwy, Suite 100, Frisco, TX 75034, 972-464-1980

For a possible poisoning, the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center answers around the clock at (888) 426-4435 (a consultation fee may apply). Not sure which kind of care you need? Read urgent care vs. emergency care.

What is Petfolk?

Your pets are important to you, so they must be important to us. We care deeply for animals of all shapes and sizes, and we understand that it can be devastating when your pet is sick. That's why we've created a community of care to ensure that your pet is in good hands.

We're committed to providing the best care possible, both for preventing and treating diseases or ailments. From in-person visits to late-night virtual care telehealth sessions, we're here all the time for you and your pet. Diseases don't wait until working hours, so why should we?

What Do We Offer?

Petfolk is an all-in-one Dallas pet vet clinic, so you can bring your pet to us when they're sick and for preventative healthcare.

• Pet Exams - Regular exams and checkups are the best way to monitor your pet's health to ensure they're doing their best. We'll check vitals, weigh and measure your pet, and look for any warning signs of diseases or other serious conditions.

• Pet Vaccinations - As with people, pets need vaccines to prevent various illnesses like rabies, distemper, and more. We can also provide further preventative care, such as flea treatments and heartworm medicine.

• Pet Urgent Care - As an animal hospital in Dallas, Petfolk is equipped to handle urgent care situations for your pet. Pet urgent care appointments can be made on the same day, or you can just bring your pet in when they're feeling ill. We do not offer emergency services, though.

At Petfolk, we're not just a Dallas vet; we're your dedicated partner in ensuring your pet's optimal health. Beyond our core veterinary services, we provide specialized care, including diagnostic testing, surgical procedures, dental treatments, and compassionate euthanasia. Our mission is to holistically care for your pet, from nose to tail

What Makes Us Different?

As technology continues to evolve, we continue to embrace it. We won’t be left behind in the land of lost paperwork, manual scheduling, and tedious appointment-setting rituals. Instead, we make sure we not only know and understand the latest in technology but also use it in ways that streamline the veterinary experience from start to finish.

We’ve positioned ourselves at the forefront of a new era of pet care, so we’re continually able to give you a best-in-class vet clinic experience. Leveraging technology to take care of the “other stuff” allows us to focus on you and your pet while providing the best pet exams as quickly as we’re able.

Because of this, Petfolk is able to offer Dallas pet owners a new and improved veterinary care experience. We value your time, we respect your role as a dedicated pet parent, and we care for your pet as if they were our own. Everything we do centers around these values because a warm and welcoming environment isn’t just comforting to you and your pet, it creates a joyful and compassionate workplace for us, too. After all, we’re vets on a mission.
